Canonical, the makers of Ubuntu has announced a Smartphone version of its popular Linux based OS Ubuntu. Now the Ubuntu OS is only limited to PC but in the near future it will be available for smartphones followed by tablets and cameras.The company announced an installable image of Ubuntu's Smartphone version for the Galaxy Nexus handset to be available late February. The source code will also be made available.The OS will feature a new User Interface in order to provide better experience for its users.

  • Flash storage 4-8GB

Ubuntu OS has support for both ARM and x86 processors.The operating system will use the same drivers as Android, so anyone with an Android device would be able to load Ubuntu on their handset with relative ease. Furthermore, unlike Android, the OS relies on native code and HTML5 for its apps and not Java,this will improve the total performance of the device compared to the present Operating systems.The company also promises a better gaming experience for the users.
